Foal Sorb

Indications

Durvet Foal Sorb is a supplemental source of electrolytes, sodium, L-Glutamine and complex carbohydrates for use on foals at the first sign of diarrhea and/or dehydration.

- A new generation electrolyte formula developed exclusively for use in foals, now available in your Durvet label for over-the-counter sales. Until now, this formula has been available to veterinarians only

- Contains Immune System Boosters: Stops diarrhea (most cases in 20-30 minutes), Prevents dehydration, Restores electrolyte balance, Limits damage to intestinal villi that might otherwise hinder growth and development

- Contains L-glutamine, commonly used in many human infant electrolyte formulations, which has been shown to speed regeneration of damaged intestinal villi (helps heal the gut)

- Contains maltodextrin: a carbohydrate that is easily and more completely absorbed, resulting in the removal of excess fluid from the gut that would otherwise become diarrhea

- Corrects electrolyte imbalance resulting from diarrhea episode

- Does not contain glucose or dextrose (glucose can actually cause dehydration in severe cases of diarrhea)

- Does not slow down natural flow of the gut

- Reduces or eliminates the need for potent drug therapy

- Reduces or eliminates the time required to keep the foal’s buttocks cleansed of “burning” feces

- Slight apple and molasses flavor for increased palatability

Advantages

Each packet contains two doses for foals weighing up to 200 lbs. Mix one packet of Foal Sorb with 8oz. of water. Give one-half of the mixture initially then follow with the other half in 4-6 hours. Repeat daily for up to 4 days after foal diarrhea is encountered. Foals weighing 300 lbs. or more should receive a full packet as single dose. Administer orally with a plastic syringe or any drenching method.
