Position summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with distributor management, distributor purchasing agents, and distributor representatives.  Promote Durvet products and programs to grow Durvet sales.  Support the Durvet member to increase sales to their customers regardless of market segment.   Increase sales at both the distributor, while educating their customers on the partnership benefits of working with the Durvet member and Durvet.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Essential Job Requirements and Functions at the Distributor Level

Detail Durvet programs and promotions to Distributor purchasing agents and key decision makers in a timely manner both in person and by phone.

Contact assigned distributors at an agreed rate per quarter, in person or by phone.

Develop sales goals and forecasts for new products and programs; coordinate timing of distributor purchases with promotions for increased sales to the member’s customers.

Responsible for placement of new items and programs with the distributor.

Attend necessary distributor sales meetings and functions as required.

Attend and work distributor trade shows and sales meetings as required. Keep accurate and timely records of weekly activities.

Submit weekly call reports for the week activities Develop a distributor plan for growth on key Durvet focus items with Director of Sales of Livestock and Key Accounts. (Sales Pipeline)

Coordinate the member needs with marketing team to help with pull through on current products and promotions of interest.

Essential Job Requirements and Functions for the Livestock Regional Manager

Promote Durvet/distributor relations by participating in Distributor meetings and sales rep functions as deemed necessary by Durvet Sales director Livestock and Key Accounts and member.

Promote Durvet/ Distributor relations by making key producer and retail sales calls.

Detail Durvet programs and promotions to both distributor representatives and key distributor customers in a timely manner both in person and by phone.

Attend necessary distributor customer functions and distributor customer events as required. Attend Durvet member trade shows as deemed necessary by Sales Director Livestock and Key Accounts and sales meetings as required.

Keep accurate and timely records of weekly activities. Track activity in a company identified tracking program and make available to management and the sales department in a timely manner.

Develop a territory sales plan with the Sales Director of Livestock. Review and revise the sales plan monthly to help maintain current accounts, create new customers and identify new areas of opportunity.

Organize sales focus activities within your distributors in your region.

Minimum requirements

4 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience

8 -10 Years’ sales experience in the animal health industry

Passion for animal health

Abilities required

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Public speaking and the ability to prepare presentations, including use of PowerPoint

Use standardized word processing, spreadsheet and contact management software

Required 75% overnight travel required
